Kalmar (squid) is a mollusc. Primary allergen is tropomyosin, triggering IgE-mediated reactions (urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis). Mollusc allergy is less common than crustacean/shellfish but often severe. Cross-reactivity with dust mites possible.
