Sambucus nigra (Elderberry) allergy

Direct IgE-mediated allergy to elderberry proteins (e.g., Sam n 1). Symptoms include urticaria, angioedema, or anaphylaxis (rare). More common in individuals with pre-existing pollen or plant food allergies. Raw berries pose higher risk than cooked.
