The start of the new year is usually a time of great joy and an ideal moment for gatherings and fun. After the Christmas festivities, we enter the carnival period, which traditionally begins on the Feast of the Three Kings and ends on Ash Wednesday. This opportunity is perfect to organize a party, a gathering, or a home get-together with a movie night or a game night. In addition to the evening attractions, it's also important to consider the culinary aspect. For informal gatherings, treats are an excellent choice.
Sandwiches with soy-based spread
A vegan dish that also offers a gluten-free option. Sandwiches are very easy to prepare, yet impressive. One of the additives that is a great choice for a carnival party is a herbal soy spread. The ingredients are: - about 180 g of natural or herbal tofu, - 30-50 ml of a vegetable drink with a neutral flavor (e.g. soy milk), the quantity depends on how the spread is to be made. - 1 tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar from pickled cucumbers, - your preferred herbs (about 2 tablespoons), e.g. parsley, dill, chives, fresh basil leaves, tarragon, - salt and pepper to taste. Use a high-walled blender container to add the tofu, vegetable drink, and lemon juice or vinegar from the cucumbers. Blend until a smooth mixture is obtained. If it is too thick, add more vegetable drink. Then add the chopped herbs, stir, season to taste with salt and pepper, and add more lemon juice or vinegar if necessary. In the gluten-free version, use certified gluten-free bread. To vary this appetizer, you can prepare it in different versions, for example by using plant-based pastes in different colors.
