Most of us, especially women, adore sweets. Their pleasant taste, which can be addictive for some, makes them highly desirable. The faster and more stressful our life is, the more often we seek relief in sweets that serve as a snack or sweet delight. There's nothing wrong with consuming sweets if they're made from healthy and nutritious ingredients. However, not everyone knows that it's easy to prepare small delights, using spelt or sweet potatoes for example.
Nutrient-rich treats
Nutrient-rich treats are an excellent alternative to industrially produced products saturated with sugar, ineffective fats, and artificial additives. As a result, these are products with a high caloric content (usually over 100 kcal) and at the same time a low nutrient density. After consuming such sweets like desserts, pieces of cake, or waffles, we only feel satiated for a short time, without providing the body with any beneficial nutrients—only "empty calories". Studies confirm that treats are the "blind love" of Poles, as evidenced by the fact that 96% of Poles reach for them. The main reason why such a sweet ends up in the shopping cart is the desire to boost energy or improve mood. We also reach for them to reward ourselves or under emotional influence, but most often we choose sweets without a specific reason, simply because of their taste. It is important to know that most of the treats we buy can be prepared at home in a much tastier and healthier version. This does not require much time, and the benefits of such meals are significant, e.g., prevention of diabetes, atherosclerosis, hypertension, obesity, and even tooth decay.
