In recent years, there has been a significant rise in metabolic disorders, which are directly linked to the adverse effects of environmental factors on human health. Previously, such conditions were predominantly associated with adults. However, they are now increasingly diagnosed in children and adolescents as well. Among the most serious health risks are metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.
Diabetes in children
It is a serious metabolic disease, belonging to the group of diseases of civilization. Diabetes can be divided into two main types: type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. It is characterized by chronic hyperglycaemia, caused by problems with the secretion or production of insulin. It can be associated with both disorders. Increasingly, there is an increase in children's and young people's diseases. It may be classified into two major types: Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.. Type 1 diabetes is an insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDM), a relatively short-lived disease of the family, because it is caused by the onset of insulin, which can damage many other cells of the brain, such as the beta cells, and is responsible for the production of these diseases.
