Prioritizing health and well-being is a key concern for many individuals. In today's world, an increasing number of consumers pay close attention to the composition and origin of food products. Nevertheless, certain ingredients, such as preservatives, remain challenging to entirely exclude from our daily diet.
What are preservatives for?
Conservatives are chemicals added to food to extend its shelf life. They protect food products from deterioration caused by the presence of microorganisms and prevent the development of pathogens. Along with many other substances, such as dyes and stabilizers, they are part of a relatively long list of food additives that are intentionally included in food products. They are denoted by the symbol Conserva E and are specifically attributed to preservatives, ranging from E200 to E299.
