In order to achieve the best sports results, a long-term training process is required that should be orderly and purposefully directed towards the goal set. Each year of work should be divided into different training phases, each with its unique goals. This is essential to achieve a targeted adaptation of the body to the effort and at a specific time, during the main competitions of the year, to achieve the best results. These goals are achieved by the athlete through training means, whose rational organization and selection are of crucial importance for the effectiveness of the training process.
Training instruments, which means a suitcase with work instruments
A training programme is a set of decisions, goals and means of their implementation... The latter include, among other things, training instruments... They can be likened to work instruments in a specialist's tool case, such as a hydraulic engineer, electrician or other expert... Such an expert only keeps in their case those instruments that enable them to carry out their tasks in a professional manner and are useful at the time of performing the work... Similarly, training measures are used for a specific purpose... A sportsperson applies them in order to achieve a specific goal... This goal is determined by the periodization of training, i.e. its phase... Therefore, a sportsperson must have in their tool case only those training instruments that are useful in a given period... In the next training period, some of them are exchanged, new ones are added and so the sportsperson progresses in a planned manner, preparing the body for ever higher loads, specific efforts and skills... A good training programme determines the time of commencing individual undertakings for the development of physical fitness, and thus also the time of application of specific training instruments.
