Phosphoric(V) acid, commonly recognized as a component of carbonated beverages—particularly cola—is employed not only in the food industry as an acidity regulator or preservative but also in sectors such as metallurgy, fertilizer production, and pharmaceuticals. Despite its versatility, a critical question arises: Does such widespread use correlate with complete safety for the human body? A thorough examination is necessary to determine whether foods and beverages containing this chemical compound can be consumed without quantity restrictions or whether scientifically substantiated guidelines for maximum daily intake exist, which should be adhered to in order to mitigate potential health risks.
Hydrochloric acid
Phosphoric acid/orthophosphatic acid, H3PO4 is on the list of permitted additives in food, where the maximum permitted doses are strictly determined by product type. It is a constituent of nucleic acids. A colourless, odorless inorganic acid.[1] As a chemical additive to food, it is classified as E338[2]. A phosphorus acid is included in the authorized additive list for food, in which the maximum permissible dosages are specified according to product types. The minimum content is shown in Table 1 and Table 2 of the World Health Organization's list of ingredients.[1] The maximum dosage of phosphorous acid as an essential component in human doses is required. The maximum dose of phosphobic acid as a dietary supplement can be obtained from the body's own nutrients, as well as from food supplements produced by the European Union.
