A lifestyle characterized by prolonged sitting

Scientific research has demonstrated that excessive sitting poses a greater health risk than smoking or alcohol abuse. Modern lifestyles have led to an increasing number of people spending 9 to 11 hours a day in a seated position. Time spent in transit, working at a desk, and relaxing in front of the television contribute to significant health consequences. Insufficient physical activity prevents the body from efficiently metabolizing energy, leading to fat accumulation. As a result, the risk of cardiovascular diseases, certain cancers, joint disorders, and spinal issues increases. Obesity, often associated with a sedentary lifestyle, heightens the likelihood of developing hypertension, type 2 diabetes, varicose veins, constipation, hemorrhoids, and back problems.
