Oat mann – diverse varieties

Oat mann is produced by milling oat grains into flour, resulting in various fractions of oat flakes. It comes in different variations such as classic oat mann, quick-cooking oat mann, and whole grain oat mann. Classic oat mann is obtained through a cleaning process, specifically by removing small particles of bran and flour. Once the right size of grains in this fraction is determined, a final product is obtained. The quick-cooking variety undergoes thermal processing during the initial production, causing the oats to quickly swell. The whole grain oat mann, however, is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making it a better alternative compared to the wheat-based oat mann.

Manna grain - protein composition, the glycemic index

Manna grain is a product derived from wheat that contains a mixture of proteins such as glutenins and gliadins, collectively known as gluten. These proteins give the manna grain a soft, puffy texture. Unfortunately, individuals suffering from celiac disease or gluten allergy are unable to consume it, as it may cause gastrointestinal symptoms, including impaired nutrient absorption. To consider the possibility of consumption by diabetics, one must take into account the glycemic index, which is 60. Therefore, it is a product with a high IG, which is not recommended for regular consumption by diabetics.

Is the pea soup fatty?

Pea soups are a group of high-nutrient foods. Consuming 100 g of the product provides the body with 348 kcal. It is important to emphasize that they are rich in starch, which provides a quick feeling of satiety, so we are not able to eat large amounts of it. Therefore, it is often recommended by dietitians, even in reducing diets. It provides basic nutrients such as protein, fats, and carbohydrates as well as minerals, vitamins, and flavonoids. Pea soups contain up to 76.7 g of carbohydrates, which is one of the highest amounts of all foods in this category. This is due to the low content of dietary fiber, which is a fraction of carbohydrates that has a positive effect on the body. In addition, peas, from which the product is made, contain mainly simple carbohydrates and not complex carbohydrates, so it is not recommended to consume it daily. Pea soups are also a source of B vitamins, so they are mainly recommended for people with gastrointestinal problems such as stomach ulcers, intestinal inflammation, liver and bile duct diseases, as well as for people with dental or swallowing problems.
