Lychee, alternatively referred to as the Chinese plum or the "fragrant flavor companion," is an exotic fruit comparable in size to a hazelnut, encased in a rough, pinkish rind that conceals a juicy, semi-translucent pulp with a velvety texture. The Chinese fig is a fruit grown in many countries with warm climates. It is the only member of its genus that owes its uniqueness to the fact that the fruit is hard to compare to anything. From a botanical point of view, it is the fruit of a tropical tree in the soap family. It has been cultivated for over 2,000 years in southern China, where the Chinese surname most likely originates.
How's the county growing?
It is a typical tropical plant, which means that it does not tolerate low temperatures, but also very high heat. It likes humidity. It grows on long-lived, mature trees that can reach up to 910 meters in height. The trees have quite thin trunks and a broad crown made up of dark green, ringed and lancet-shaped leaves. It blooms brightly in the form of tiny, yellow-green flowers growing on the tops of so-called fields.
It's all about properties
A research group led by Druzhinska found in 2014 that 100g of licorice contains about 147 mg of polyphenols. In the same study, it was found that among the 30 citrus fruits studied, it had the highest antioxidant, anti-cancer, and protective effect on the liver cells of the Chinese citrus fruit. It was also found to have antioxidant effects on the body's liver cells, i.e. flavanol-3 and oligonol. In another study conducted by the Norwegian Institute of Nutrition, it is found that all citrus products produced from the liver can exhibit the same anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, it has been shown to have a strong anti-oxidant effect on women's blood cells. It has also been shown that the use of the same antioxidant and anti-glucose compounds in the body can be beneficial to the body.
How does eating count?
It's not a challenge, but it's definitely different from protecting a banana. The fruit should be washed before protecting it so as not to contaminate the delicate rind hidden just under the skin. I personally choose the rind with the soft, not the hard, skin because I think it is easier to pick. All you have to do is tear the shell close to the tail, remove it, and harvest the fruit while trying not to damage the edible part. Then slightly trim the rind on the fist (like an avocado) so that you can easily separate the part that's meant to be eaten.
