Nearly 700,000 Poles suffer from this condition, which is being diagnosed more frequently. Moreover, there are scarcely any other disease units that provoke as many speculations and nutritional myths. What is Hashimoto's disease - what is it and how can one learn to cope with it?
Hashimoto's disease
Hashimoto is an autoimmune inflammation of the thyroid. The name comes from the Japanese Dr. H.Hashimoto, who was the first to describe it.[1] It is the unit of disease that most often (95% of cases) affects women and has a genetic or environmental basis (e.g. stress, disease transmission and infections, selenium deficiency, iodine excess) [2, 3].. It occurs with impaired immune system function, resulting in excessive production of antibodies against thyroid antigens.[3]
Hashimoto treatment
A blood test (basic morphology, fractional cholesterol, glucose and TSH, FT3, FT4, anti-TPO, anti-TG) should be initially performed, as Hashimoto's irregularity can have a significant effect on the pathological effects of other organs, e.g. the pancreas. A thyroid ultrasound should also be performed, where muscle hypochondriacity is also found.
A diet with Hashimoto's thyroid deficiency
This is probably the most controversial topic in recent times. There is no single nutritional scheme that can be applied to all patients with a multi-directional glycemic index and that should always yield good results. There are several changes in the menu that should be considered, but these should always be supported by blood tests and the elimination-rotating diet. Selen as each study indicates, is beneficial for the large intestine. However, there is also a need to reduce the amount of iodine in the intestinal tract. Studies show that the lower concentrations of the active iodines in the bloodstream of patients with diabetes mellitus and other metabolic disorders can also be used for the treatment of diseases such as heart disease, heart disease and stroke.
