Every year, new dietary trends emerge that involve the exclusion of specific nutrients, adjustments to daily meal plans, or the necessity of supplements. The separate diet, also referred to as the diet of non-combination or Haya diet, has been around for decades and garners both support and criticism. Is it genuinely beneficial for health, and does its implementation yield the desired outcomes?

Separate diet

According to the author, Dr. Haya, the time of digestion of protein and carbohydrate products (including starches) is different, so they should not be consumed simultaneously during a single meal.[1] In the book Ursula Summ, we read that improper nutrition can inhibit metabolism, disrupt the work of internal organs and thicken the blood.
