Supplements for compotes can be chosen freely, based on personal taste preferences, but the most popular are m.a. cloves, ginger, cinnamon, or cardamom. These ingredients have beneficial effects on human health. Cloves support the functioning of the digestive system and have warming and pain-relieving properties (M. Kardas, K. Toczyńska, E. Grochowska-Niedworok 2016). Ginger alleviates discomfort related to menstrual symptoms, reduces pain in degenerative joint diseases and rheumatoid arthritis. This product also has an anti-migraine effect. In addition, it is often recommended to pregnant women suffering from nausea (P. Glibowski et al. 2017). Another ingredient that can be used for preparing compotes is cinnamon. It is used as a remedy, for example, in cases of digestive disorders, bloating, diarrhea, or stomach cramps. It also stimulates the production of bile and digestive juices (K. Kaławaj, M. K. Lemieszek 2015). Cardamom, on the other hand, has anticariogenic, antibacterial, and stimulating properties and improves digestion by stimulating the digestive system (P. Jesylne et al. 2016).

Winter preserves - guidelines for dishes

Preparation time: 40 minutes Ingredients (per 1 serving): Apples - 3 pieces (450 g), Water - 5 glasses (1200 ml), Ginger - plaster (20 g), Cinnamon - 1⁄2 teaspoon (2 g), Cloves - 1 teaspoon (2 g), Erythritol - tablespoon (10 g). Preparation: 1. Wash apples thoroughly, cut into slices and place them in a pot. 2. Peel and slice ginger, add to the apples. 3. Pour water into the pot, add cinnamon, erythritol, and cloves, and cook for 30 minutes. 4. After time has elapsed, set aside the preserves to cool.

Spiced pear compote featuring cardamom

Preparation time: 30 minutes Ingredients (for 1 serving): Pears - 3 pieces (450 g), Water - 5 glasses (1200 ml), Lemon - 1/2 piece (50 g), Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon (2 g), Cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon (2 g), Honey - 1 teaspoon (12 g). Preparation method: 1. Peel the pears, cut into smaller pieces and place in a pot. 2. Cut the lemon into slices, place in the pot. 3. Pour water over the fruit, add cardamom and cinnamon, cook for 20 minutes. 4. After this time, slightly cool the compote, add honey and mix.

Compote with the inclusion of dried plums

Preparation time: 30 minutes Ingredients (per 1 serving): apple 2 pieces (300 g), water 5 glasses (1200 ml), dried plums five pieces (35 g), spices – cinnamon 1⁄2 teaspoon (2 g), cloves a teaspoon (2g), sweetener – erythritol spoon (10 g). Instructions: 1. Wash and peel the apples, then cut them into smaller pieces and remove the seeds. 2. Place the fruit along with the spices and sweetener in a pot. 3. Cover with water and cook for 20 minutes. 4. Allow the compote to cool slightly before serving.

Fruit Compote with Mandarins

Preparation time: 30 minutes Ingredients (per 1 serving): Apple 2 pieces (300 g), Pear 1 piece (150 g), Mandarin 1 piece (50 g), Water 5 glasses (1200 ml), Ginger piece (20 g), Cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon (2 g), Erythritol 1 tablespoon (10 g). Preparation method1. Thoroughly wash apples and pears, cut into slices, remove seeds. Place in a pot. 2. Cover them with water. 3. Add ginger, cinnamon, and erythritol, simmer for 20 minutes. 4. At the end, pour in freshly squeezed mandarin juice.
