Raspberries are characterized by a low glycemic index (25), which means that it is worth including them in the diet of people with diabetes or insulin resistance.

The health benefits of raspberries have been known and appreciated for a long time. The process of domestication of these fruits was initiated by the Romans and spread throughout Europe. Raspberries are rich in polyphenols, which have anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-antikosteric properties. In traditional medicine, they were used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-caking agent, anti-flammable, or to promote the functioning of the digestive system and prevent kidney stones. Raspberries are also a source of copper and vitamin C, which support the immune system. Wild raspberries have the highest content of healthy compounds and are also the most aromatic. Recent scientific studies have confirmed the anti-cancer properties of ellagic acid. However, it is important to note that raspberries can cause allergies.

The top five recipe concepts for utilizing raspberries

The ideal solution for hot summer days when our body requires additional hydration. Such lemonade can also serve as a base for cocktails. Ingredients: – 2 glasses of mineral water, – 2 tablespoons of raspberries, – lemon juice, – sugar or xylitol to taste. Preparation: Place all ingredients in a blender and mix thoroughly. Chill in the refrigerator. Serve with ice cubes and lemon slices, the beverage can also be decorated with mint leaves.

Salad with raspberries and figs in a refreshing version

An unexpected idea for using raspberries in a different context than dessert. A light, aromatic salad is an excellent choice for dinner and a delightful starter for a party. The ingredients include: – a few raspberries, – 4 fresh figs, – 4 pieces of dried Italian ham, – 100 g of delicate molded cheese, – a handful of fresh walnuts, – 100g mixed lettuce, arugula or spinach. To prepare the dressing, you will need: 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of honey, salt, and pepper to taste. Preparation: Wash and dry the lettuce before placing it in a bowl. Arrange the quartered figs, ham pieces, cheese, and raspberries on top. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Mix all dressing ingredients well and pour over the salad before serving.

Ingredients: - 2 glasses of plant-based beverage or milk, - 2 cups of raspberries, - 4 tablespoons of chia seeds, - 1 teaspoon of sugar or xylitol, - a few mint leaves. Preparation: Blend raspberries with plant-based beverage or milk and sugar or xylitol. Thoroughly mix with chia seeds. Pour obtained pudding into cups and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
