Potato Chips are one of the most popular, yet least healthy snacks that we frequently consume during movie screenings, social gatherings, and numerous other occasions... How does this type of snack affect our state of health?
Scientifically on chips
Scientists have long wondered what chips have in them that we love to touch them so much. Their negative effects on our health are pretty well known to everyone, but we still eat them anyway. Scientists are looking at the large amounts of carbohydrates and fats that send information to our brain about how we feel when we eat chips.
What exactly do the chips contain?
Unfortunately, the composition of chips is quite long, and we don't think we'll find any nutrients in them that would help our bodies function. Among other things, they contain many preservatives and dyes that, in large quantities, can cause health-threatening side effects. Like most junk food, chips also contain the carcinogenic acrylamide, a substance that is produced when deep-fried products that contain fat. Chips have the highest concentration of acrylic acid, about 3500 g/kg.
