Multipurpose Exercises with Elastic Bands

Many individuals yearn for a complete physique. With each passing day, more and more of us dream of a body that is healthy, fit, and appealing. When we decide to change our lifestyle, we often are uncertain about which exercises to choose. Should we opt for a gym or rather some other proven form of physical activity? What will be most effective in achieving our overall physical development?

Effective innovation – training with flexible bands

Lately, we have been seeing more and more different types of flexible training bands in fitness clubs and gyms. They are used for preparing for strength training, during mobilization, stretching, or as accessories during training. There are also strength training exercises that are solely based on flexible bands. Since they are lightweight and do not require much space, we can exercise anywhere. Additionally, by adding more flexible bands, we can easily adjust the weight. They are not expensive, making them an excellent alternative for people who cannot afford to pay for a gym membership regularly. It is also worth noting that flexible training bands have been used in rehabilitation for a long time, but only now are they gaining popularity as a training tool in classic workouts. It is also worth mentioning that flexible training bands have found application in power training programs, as they allow for an easy increase in explosive strength and dynamic movements.

Safety guidelines when exercising with rubber bands

Exercising with rubber bands can carry some risks. Safety is paramount. Firstly, we need to be aware that the material used to make them is flexible, but it has certain limits. It's easy to cause an accident by the material tearing or bouncing back towards the face. It's worth checking the condition of the rubber before using it to ensure that there are no signs of wear and tear. Furthermore, we should not assume that the bands available in gyms are in good condition. They are used practically around the clock, so their durability may differ from the accepted standards. Another important aspect is wearing appropriate footwear with non-slip soles to minimize the risk of the band slipping off the feet during certain exercises. We should not forget to avoid overstretching the band, as every material, as previously mentioned, has its limits. If a certain resistance no longer poses a challenge for us, we should simply replace the rubber with a stronger one, instead of stretching the band further. The final aspect related to safety during training is maintaining the proper distance from other exercisers. We must not expose other individuals to the risk of injuries.

Diverse exercise forms using elastic bands

The elastic band training system can be used in virtually all types of training, with no issues we can perform a full-body workout. In addition, using bands with the correct resistance can achieve the same level of effectiveness as free weight training. Therefore, there is no reason why these two methods should not be combined. A very interesting idea is to attach elastic bands to dumbbells or barbells, which will maintain constant tension throughout the movement and increase the difficulty with each centimeter, providing the appropriate stimulus for body development and overall strength. We can also raise the bar and attach it at the bottom, which will significantly complicate the movement. For many of us, classic push-ups will not be a big challenge, but what if we perform them using elastic bands? The advantage of this solution is that the elastic band provides less resistance in the most difficult position (lower position), but in the upper position, as our body is already in motion, the elastic band stretches further and further, the resistance becomes greater and greater, allowing us to intensify the training. Of course, the variations of the exercises performed and the application of elastic bands depend on our goals. Source: internet site www.stack.com (08.05.2018).

Effective exercises for strength and muscle mass development

When it comes to exercises that are focused on strength and muscle development, it's also worth considering whole-body exercises that involve multiple joints. These include squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and standing presses. It's also important to consider the appropriate weight, and in the case of resistance bands, the appropriate resistance level. What about repetitions? In the case of muscle building, it is recommended to choose a range of 8-12 repetitions. We should choose a weight that requires more effort from us to use it for the given number of repetitions. If we are able to perform 20 or more repetitions, performing 8-12 repetitions will not be particularly effective. We should not forget that we should also increase the weight from week to week, which will also affect the outcome of body shaping training. When it comes to strength training, we should focus on lower repetition ranges of 3-5. However, it will be much more difficult to find a resistance band that 3-5 repetitions will be a challenge for us. This means that in most cases, the execution of the exercise will not be effective. Therefore, in strength training with resistance bands, I would use them only as an accessory to barbells and weight plates to improve the weaker phase of the movement. In short, a training system based on resistance bands is an excellent alternative to traditional strength training programs and can also serve as a supplement to them.
