A sodium-restricted diet focuses on substantially reducing the intake of table salt, which is particularly important for individuals with cardiovascular and renal conditions. Effects of excess salt in the diet

Where's the salt hiding?

Salt and sodium in it are present in greater or lesser quantities in every food product. Natural products contain relatively little salt. Approximately 60% of the salt we consume throughout the day comes from cooking salt, the rest comes from the finished products we eat. Studies show that most of the sodium we eat in our diet is delivered to the body by drinking baking soda and drinking mineral/source water with a high melting content.

A low-sodium diet is the rule

The rules of the low-sodium diet are very simple. They are to limit as much sodium as possible. The World Health Organization allows for no more than 1 tablespoon of cooking salt per day including products that we don't get (ready-made products). So the main rule of a low-sulfur diet is to avoid salt in the kitchen. Reducing the amount of NaCl in the diet is one of the most effective ways to prevent heart disease.

The low-sodium diet is characterized by the total exclusion or significant restriction of foods containing a significant or moderate amount of sodium. To each of us, the first thing that comes to mind are salted products raspberries, chips, pulses, popcorn. Few, however, will think of the most common products we use, which are not at all green in taste, to the extent that we can take them into account.
