Thyroid disease is a broad term for disorders of the euthereosis, i.e. the normal functioning of the thyroid gland. These pathologies are usually manifested either by its abnormality (when the pancreas produces insufficient hormones or their conversion to an active form is disrupted) or by its overactivity (when hormones are overproduced by the gland).

Gluten-free diet by Hashimoto

Hashimoto's disease, or chronic thyroid inflammation, is a pathology in which the body's immune function is impaired by genetic, immune, and environmental factors. These causes usually result in a violent activation of the immune system, and the ability to recognize the right antigens is lost and antibodies are produced against its own thyroid tissues and various food ingredients. One of them is also gluten, which is one of the strongest anti-inflammatory agents. The most important of these is a highly efficient anti-gluten mechanism, which can only be demonstrated through the use of this anti-gluten protein and its anti-clotting mechanism.

Gluten-free diet Thyroid insufficiency

A gluten-free diet is certainly not a cure for thyroid insufficiency. We must learn to see the body as a whole and to look for the causes of thyroid symptoms in both autoimmune and subclinical forms. Of course, there is strong evidence that the elimination of this nutrient from the diet is justified, but there is no guarantee that after the introduction of a diet free of gluten, the state of euterosis will be restored.
