Probiotic products like yogurt or kefir, which contain live bacterial cultures, should not be overlooked. In winter, access to fresh vegetables is limited, but frozen foods serve as a viable alternative. Additionally, incorporating juices, whole grains, and fish into the diet is beneficial, as they are rich in vitamins and minerals. Probiotics such as yogurt or kefir, containing live bacterial cultures, are essential. Another key factor is physical activity! Daily walks or outdoor play are excellent ways to keep children active. These activities promote oxygen delivery to the body and enhance circulation. It is important to dress children appropriately in cold weather to prevent overheating, which can lead to infections. If the winter is exceptionally cold, indoor playrooms can be a suitable alternative to walking. Next, body hardening! The method of hardening the body by alternating warm and cold water during bathing is controversial, especially for children, but many consider it an effective preventive measure. The body adapts to temperature changes, which are common in winter. Room temperature should not be too high—ideally around 20°C. Excessively high temperatures can cause respiratory mucous membranes to dry out, impairing bacterial clearance. Lastly, relaxation in health resorts! If a child frequently falls ill, a change of climate may be beneficial. It is advisable to spend at least two weeks in a health resort. In Poland, there are several health resorts where respiratory diseases can be treated. A stay in the mountains or by the sea strengthens natural defenses, making the child less prone to infections.

Immunity-boosting supplements for children

Currently, obtaining supplements that enhance children's immunity is not a challenge. Pharmacies provide a wide range of such products, including: prebiotics - improving gut microbiota by combating harmful bacteria, vitamin supplements, immunostimulating medications (supporting immune function), such as shark liver oil (also known as cod liver oil), herbal extracts from echinacea, aloe vera, aronia, and ginseng, as well as vaccines (providing immunity against specific pathogens). It is crucial to note that the use of medications affecting the immune system should be discussed with a doctor! Unfortunately, infections cannot be entirely avoided, so to support the proper development of children's immune systems, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is essential. A weakened immune system can be caused by various factors, such as poor nutrition or insufficient sleep.
