The contents of an average Pole's refrigerator are the cause of his difficulties in maintaining a healthy body weight and diseases associated with obesity and overweight. Possessing a refrigerator stocked with nutritious products is the key to success and the introduction of healthy eating habits. By removing unhealthy melted cheese products, dishes requiring only microwave heating, and sweet desserts and other nutrient-deficient products, and then replacing them with more nutritious alternatives, one can quickly understand and adopt the principles of a healthy diet.
Ingredients for a healthy refrigerator
Dairy products such as milk, light yogurts, homogenized varieties or Greek yogurt, buttermilk, kefir, and other fermented milk drinks should be free from added flavorings, which we can incorporate ourselves. Homemade strawberry yogurt is packed with fresh fruits, whereas ready-made products contain syrups, flavorings, and colorants. White cheese, preferably in a semi-fat version, is a good source of protein, calcium, and vitamin D3. It can be quickly used to prepare quark and spreads. Yellow cheese contains more calcium, but original varieties should be chosen, avoiding processed cheeses. Meat and deli meats should be lean, such as poultry, veal, or pork, rich in protein and B vitamins. Vegetables like carrots, parsley, celery, leeks, bell peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, and lettuce form the basis of a healthy diet. Sauces like soy sauce, chili, mustard, or ketchup should be selected based on their composition. Frozen foods like vegetable and fruit mixes, meat, and bread facilitate meal preparation. A well-stocked refrigerator simplifies healthy eating.
