There exists a widely held observation that women meticulously scrutinize every facet of their peers’ appearance—ranging from the cut of a dress and the style of footwear to the most minute cosmetic details, such as lipstick shades or eyebrow shapes. Yet recent research has uncovered an additional, unexpected element that commands their attention with equal vigor. What is this seemingly subtle, easily overlooked feature—and why might it hold profound implications for health and overall well-being?

What does serving size depend on?

The results were surprising. Regardless of their weight and previous preferences, the participants ate larger portions if they thought the other women also ate larger meals. Interestingly, this dependence did not occur in the opposite situation. When the women thought that the other participants of the study ate smaller meals, their portions did not change so much. Additionally, there was no evidence that information about lean women's food intake had a greater effect on calorie intake than information about the intake of women with weight.
