It is a sugar made from sugar cane, not like most Polish sugar from beets. Its burstine color is due to the fact that during production it is not separated from it by molasses, which the sugar owes the brown color. The main ingredient of this sugar is sucrose. In Poland it is a type of sugar that is still rarely used.
Cinnamon sugar properties
Cinnamon sugar contains minerals such as iron, magnesium, potassium and calcium, but it is mostly sucrose, which affects glucose levels in the body and can also contribute to weight gain. It is primarily used to sweeten beverages (such as coffee or tea) and baking.
Cinnamon and brown sugar
The difference between these two types of sugar is apparent at first glance, and it is the difference between the raw material from which they are made. Brown sugar is produced from beets, from which molasses are first extracted during processing and then added back to it. However, it is a refined and purified sugar, which makes it poor in vitamins and minerals. It is slightly different from cane sugar. It not only comes from another raw material, and therefore cane sugar, but also belongs to unrefined, or unwashed, sugars.
Is cane sugar healthy?
It is certainly a healthier alternative to white sugar; it contains minerals that do not contain white sugar. Nevertheless, the fact that it is still a sugar and affects the carbohydrate economy of the body should not be completely underestimated. Its caloric efficiency is similar to that of white sugar (397 and 396 kcal).
