Arthritis - learn more about this condition

Arthritis is a condition of our time - a generation that spends a lot of time in front of a computer, eats haphazardly and does not care about their physical condition. Despite the fact that more and more people are opting for a healthy lifestyle, arthritis remains a common ailment and is classified as a civilization disease. In the following part of the article, you will learn more about the condition itself and treatment options.

What is arthritis?

Arthritis is generally the outcome of biological and mechanical activities that lead to disruption of the synthesis process of new joint cartilage and the deterioration of the existing one. These changes also occur at the cellular level (in so-called chondrocytes) and the subchondral bone layer. The rate of disease development is highly individual and depends on a wide range of factors - from typical personal traits such as genetic predisposition, age, body mass, diet, lifestyle or past illnesses, to the nature of work or the amount of stress.

Degenerative Joint Disease and its Indications

Prior to analyzing the indications of degenerative joint disease, it is necessary to divide this condition into two primary types. The first is idiopathic osteoarthritis, which is a degeneration caused by an unknown cause. In this case, it is very common to discuss the significant proportion of the previously mentioned predisposing factors, to which should be added increased bone density and disorders within the functionality of proprioceptors. These are neurotransmitters responsible for transmitting information about the sensation of bones that occur for unknown reasons. The second and equally popular type is called secondary arthritis. As the name suggests, the disease arises due to a specific factor that results in damage to the local structures of the musculoskeletal system or a disturbance in the construction of the affected joint. Mechanical injuries, congenital and developmental defects, metabolic and endocrinological diseases, disturbances of mineral metabolism, and diseases of the bones and joints are among the most common causes of secondary osteoarthritis.

Treatment of progressive degenerative disease

Arthrosis therapy is a long-term and multi-stage process that is actually dependent on the mechanism that causes the disease. The most commonly recommended way to deal with the symptoms of arthritis is physiotherapy based on physiotherapeutic treatments and motion rehabilitation. Here we mainly talk about physical stimuli such as electric current, ultrasound, electromagnetic waves or ordinary water that are known to have anti-inflammatory properties. On the other hand, physical therapies are recommended to maintain muscle movement in the joints of the body and to reduce muscle mass in the body. However, remember that the use of these anti-oxidants does not necessarily mean that muscle tissue should be kept in contact with the body in order to remove muscle fibers from the body, but it is important to keep in mind that there is no need to use these proteins to prevent muscle weakness. In addition, there are many other ways to increase the effectiveness of these drugs, such as anti-alcoholic fatty acids and anti-cholinergic drugs, which are commonly used in the treatment of all types of diseases.
