Arterial overstrain – symptomatic manifestations, etiologic factors, and contemporary management approaches

The lack of readily identifiable symptomatic indicators of arterial overstrain means that significant, progressive pathological alterations may occur within the body for extended periods without being detected in the absence of specialized diagnostic evaluation. Strikingly, in over nine out of ten diagnosed instances, no definitive, direct cause can be pinpointed as responsible for the development of this condition—rendering it particularly insidious and challenging to identify in its early stages.
High blood pressure
High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a disease of the circulatory system characterized by periodic or permanent elevated arterial, pulmonary and diastolic pressure.
High blood pressure symptoms
Most cases of hypertension are symptomless. However, some symptoms may indicate problems with normal blood pressure. Headaches that affect the posterior part of the head, dizziness, rapid fatigue, worsening of exercise tolerance, feelings of heart palpitations, excessive arousal, redness of the face, neck and chest, bleeding from the nose or sleep disturbances may be the first symptoms of arteriosclerosis.
High blood pressure is the cause
Unfortunately, most cases of hypertension are not related to one specific cause. The disease is strongly influenced by environmental and genetic factors. The first risk factor for the disease is excessive salt intake (sodium). Not only does excess salt added to food contribute to hypertension, it should be remembered that salt is present in many food products. The next cause of the disease may be obesity and lack of physical activity.
Treatment for high blood pressure
Treatment of high blood pressure is closely related to the causes of its occurrence. Diet and regular physical activity play a very important role. Treatments can be divided into non-pharmacological and pharmacological. Non-pharmacological treatment of hypertension can include lifestyle changes (diet, physical activity, reduction in alcohol consumption, cessation or reduction of smoking, and limitation of sodium intake). Diet and physical activity are very important. Introduction to the diet of fish, a high amount of vegetables and active substances, instead of fat meat, sweets and unhealthy snacks, a lack of stress on the whole body.
