Lately, I have been receiving a multitude of inquiries pertaining to the differentiation between Street Workout and CrossFit -- "You're performing pull-ups in the same fashion", "you're also engaging in strenuous training sessions in both disciplines". Considering that I maintain numerous acquaintances who partake in CrossFit and we routinely share experiences, I decided to compose this article.
The delineation of physical workouts and CrossFit
A physical workout - it is a discipline that is based on outdoor training, at specially prepared places. The main goal is to popularize a healthy lifestyle and emphasize the importance of universal development among young people. We show that anyone can be a strong, athletic, handsome person without spending money, lifting heavy weights, and helping themselves with dietary supplements (although we can see that the attitude towards supplements is changing a lot). With our own example, we show that workouts are available to everyone and are diverse. Through this discipline, young people go for training, not for smoking. Everyone who trains in Street Workout becomes a role model. CrossFit - this training style is based on selecting stations with exercises and performing workouts with great intensity. Lately, we see a big increase in interest in this sport. The company Reebok acquired the right to use this brand for 1 billion dollars. Due to the large selection of training plans and exercises, CrossFit workouts are very diverse and attract more and more enthusiasts. The effectiveness of the workouts depends to a large extent on who is conducting the training.
Availability of access
Workout is a discipline in the fitness domain, aiming to perform exercises utilizing one's own body weight. Training focuses on strength and endurance development. Creativity in training allows us to continually devise new workouts and so-called 'combinations'. This makes each training session unique. Workout was initially conceived with the idea of maximum availability of access - the ability to exercise anywhere and anytime. No special equipment or a gym membership is required. A simple bar and pole are enough for a complete workout.
