Relish the Consumption of Red Beef and Excellent Health!

The misconception that red beef is unhealthy, originating from the United States, has spread across Europe. In America, red beef has been primarily linked to hamburgers.

Red meat - what is it exactly?

Red meat is not limited to pork and steak. This category includes beef, lamb meat, mutton, veal, wild boar meat, pork, goose meat and duck meat. In most countries, the general opinion is that the least nutritious product is the one that is most readily available. In Poland, where pork is abundant, it is considered to be worse than other meats, mainly due to its high fat content. However, modern farmers feed pigs in such a way that they are not as fat as previously thought. The way the meat is prepared is also important: the white part can be easily melted from the schnitzel on a dry, heated pan. Red meat, however, has a higher iron content than poultry.

The nutritional attributes of red meat

Red meat serves as a rich source of protein that supports muscle growth. It also contains easily digestible iron and zinc, which help prevent diabetes, prostate disorders, skin aging, infections, and participate in protein and carbohydrate conversion processes. Red meat is abundant in B and PP vitamins essential for muscle building and regeneration and red blood cell production. Therefore, beef and pork should be present in the diet of growing and gaining weight children and adolescents. It is worth noting the high level of heme iron in red meat. Plants contain this component, but in the non-heme form, which is significantly harder for the body to absorb. It is worth noting that half of the fats in beef, lamb, and mutton are unsaturated fats. Geese and ducks are sometimes overlooked during weight-loss diets. This is a mistake – the meat of these birds contains the rare selenium and omega-3 fatty acids. However, a large portion of unwanted calories is found in the skin – it is enough to omit it during the meal.

Nutritional scheme for physically active individuals

Individuals who frequently engage in physical exertion should incorporate red meat into their nutritional scheme. Not only due to the high protein and B-vitamin content, which are essential for muscle tissue formation and body recovery after physical activity. Beef also contains L-carnitine, also known as vitamin B11. This substance is responsible for transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria, where they are converted into energy. For this reason, L-carnitine is a crucial component in weight-reducing supplements and energy drinks. It is better absorbed by the body when it occurs naturally, so it is recommended to obtain it through food. Another reason to include lamb and beef in the diet of individuals struggling with obesity is the presence of linoleic acid (CLA), which is a natural fat burner and contributes to reducing body fat.

Meat free from chemical contaminants

Should the opportunity present itself, it is worth focusing on game - pheasants, wild animals, deer, who inhabit the open spaces and feed solely on natural products. In this way, their meat is much richer in nutrients than the meat of farm animals. Poland enjoys a reputation throughout Europe for the excellent quality of goose meat, which is free of chemical additives. The native origin of lamb and mutton is also a good choice. Most domestic producers operate organic sheep and lamb farms. When purchasing meat in the store, it is important to pay attention to its color - it should not have a dark brown or yellow hue. In the case of ducks and geese, the meat can take on colors from beige to brown with a burgundy tint.
