1. Krill fat - shellfish also have fat

Krill fat is a very valuable source of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are characterized by a high content of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Krill fat differs from fish oil in that the fatty acids contained in it are mainly associated with phospholipids, while in fish oil the fatty acids are mainly found in triacylglycerols. It has better bioavailability than fish oil and is therefore considered to be a very valuable source of omega-3 fatty acids. Krill fat contains astaxanthin, a red carotenoid pigment that is characterized by strong antioxidant properties.

2. Coconut fats straight from the tree

Coconut oils, also known as coconut fats, are examples of plant-based oils that are extracted from the hard flesh of coconut nuts. Due to their wide range of functions, they find application not only in gastronomy, but also in cosmetics, aesthetics and bodybuilding. Coconut oil is mainly composed of saturated fatty acids, including lauric acid and myristic acid. The rest of the oil consists of unsaturated fatty acids, such as oleic acid (monounsaturated fatty acids) and linoleic acid (polyunsaturated fatty acids). Coconut products are also a source of magnesium, potassium and dietary fiber. Although coconut oil is mainly composed of saturated fats, unlike animal fats, this oil is made up of medium-chain fatty acids. These acids are attributed with bacteriostatic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antioxidant and positive effects on the cardiovascular system. However, it should be noted that the fatty acids contained in coconut oil are absorbed by the body only to about 25% as medium-chain fatty acids MCT, while the rest is absorbed like saturated fatty acids, the consumption of which leads to an increase in bad cholesterol levels. Therefore, if we have problems with cholesterol, it is worth considering whether we should use coconut oil or not. The results of the studies are still not unequivocal.

3. Peanut oil – fragrant fatty substance

Perilla oil is obtained from the seeds of the one-year-old oil-rich plant, commonly known as the common pachnotke, belonging to the family of Lamiaceae. The main areas where this plant is found are China, India, the Indian Peninsula, and Japan. The oil derived from this source comprises palmitic, stearic, linoleic, and alpha-linolenic acids. Perilla oil also possesses antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, radiation-protective, anti-diabetic, and wound-healing properties, as well as protects the walls of blood vessels. It is used to treat skin issues such as acne and sebum gland hyperkeratosis, as well as external injuries such as frostbite or burns. There are no known contraindications to the use of oil from pachnotke. Its application involves external care, which entails directly applying a few drops to the skin or adding it to the bath for the regeneration of the skin of the entire body. Walnut oil is also distinguished for its health benefits. It is an oil with a specific taste and aroma, containing mainly unsaturated fatty acids, including polyunsaturated fatty acids of the omega-3 and omega-6 families. Owing to its favorable lipid profile, it has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and digestive properties. The oil from pachnotke and the oil from walnuts should not be processed at high temperatures, as they quickly oxidize.
