What tea to choose?

Studies have shown that certain types of tea can protect against cancers, heart disease, diabetes, help reduce weight, lower cholesterol, aid digestion, and tea can also exhibit antibacterial properties.

Table of Contents

1. Types of tea

Many teas are called tea, but purists consider tea to be only tea made from the Camellia sinensis plant, which grows in China and India (green, black, white, oolong and red pu-erh teas). They vary in fermentation time and antioxidant content. All of these teas also contain caffeine and theine, which stimulate the nervous system.

2. Green tea is a powerful antioxidant

It can be produced by fermentation (but it doesn't have to) and leaves are only dried to retain most of the antioxidants. One of them is polyphenol galusan epigallocatechin (EGCG), which greatly increases the number of so-called regulatory T lymphocytes, cells of the immune system, so it has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects. Green tea has a multi-directional effect and can prevent the development of bladder, breast, lung, stomach, pancreas and colon cancer, it also reduces the risk of disease and stroke.

3. It's white tea

White tea owes its color to the process of production. Tea bushes are protected from the sun's rays from producing chlorophyll, then the leaves are dried to preserve the most polyphenols. It can only be harvested by hand and in early spring when leaves are still young. That's why its price is much higher than the price of other teas.

4. Red tea, the key to weight loss

Red tea should be of particular concern to people who are losing weight and who have diabetes. Pu-erh tea helps to burn fat, regulates lipid metabolism, protects against asthma and lowers blood glucose levels.

5. It's herbal tea

Pure tea does not contain stimulants such as tina, theophylline, theobromine, so pure tea can be consumed by children and pregnant women. It has a stronger effect than green tea due to its higher polyphenol content; it stimulates the immune system, protects against inflammation and cancers.
