1. When do you need probiotics in the body?

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in awareness of the importance of gut bacteria in health prevention. A lack of bacterial balance in the gut (dysbiosis) is a factor that initiates or maintains the development of numerous diseases. The properties attributed to probiotic strains are resistance to low pH and yellow salts, the ability to bind to the mucous membrane of human lymphocytes, antagonistic activity against pathogenic bacteria, and beneficial metabolic activity. Such a delicate and complex environment as the gut ecosystem is highly sensitive to a range of allergens that can cause them to develop.

2. The role of probiotics

They protect the gut from the colonization of pathogens. They are involved in digestion and absorption of food, and they produce vitamins. However, it should be remembered that probiotics are not everything. Probiotic bacteria help activate the immune system. They regulate the metabolism and motor function of the gut.

3. What to keep in mind when using probiotic therapy

Unfortunately, not all probiotic products available on the market are of good quality. Probiotic therapy is an effective method of preventing many diseases and treating many diseases with a chance of further development. When using probiotics, it is necessary to remember to use a strain of bacteria whose efficacy in a particular disease unit has been proven. A significant part of the preparations on the Polish market is characterized by less than the declared number of bacteria, but also by the content of vaccines with unconfirmed efficacy.
