The replacement of milk from mammals has recently become very fashionable. What is the difference between the different types of these drinks? Is it possible to make a healthy and valuable plant-based drink on your own? It is most commonly reached by people with cow's milk protein allergies, vegans and people who want to modify their diet a little bit. In most coffee shops you can easily order coffee with beverages: coconut, soy or almond. What should you choose? Plant-based drinks are commonly used as a traditional alternative.

1. Why is a plant-based beverage not milk?

Vegetable beverages, regardless of the products on which they are based, consist mainly of water. In order to obtain a nutritional value close to that of cow's milk, vegetable drinks are enriched, for example, with calcium or vitamins. Plant drinks have a suspension of crushed and dissolved vegetable material in water, but only resemble a product in appearance. The use of the term'vegetable milk' is erroneous. Depending on the type and the type of vegetable drink produced, the protein content, the fat content and the amount of calcium in the milk can only be determined according to the calcium content of the milk and calcium produced by the European Union.

Although almonds are valued for their high content of vitamins B2, E, fiber or unsaturated fatty acids, few of these ingredients will be left behind by dissolving them in water and filtering them in the almond drink itself.
