White cabbage is a popular ingredient in ancient Polish cuisine... it is appreciated for its flavor... it reigns on tables in raw, sour and cooked form... is it even about the nutritional value of cabbage and is it worth reaching for?

1. The nutritional value of cabbage

Cabbage is a low-calorie product because 100 g of this vegetable provides only 25 calories. However, like other plants included in the cabbage vegetable, it is also high in nutrients. We can mention here sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, vitamin K, vitamin E, vitamin C (only raw), B vitamins, beta-carotene, fiber, copper, choline or selenium. Cabbages and other vegetables are also a very good source of iron and folic acid, which is a very important source of nutrients for pregnant women. Therefore, we should be concerned about these nutrients without the need to supply arsenic and sulfur.

2. The effect of cabbage on the brain

Cabbage, which contains many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, can have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the nervous system. This information is important for health problems such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's Disease. Many researchers believe that cabbage has beneficial effects on the development of neurodegenerative diseases.

3. Cabbage for a cold

Cabbage has a positive effect on the immune system, among other things. Due to its vitamin C content. This valuable vitamin improves the functioning of the immunological system and also helps to fight infections and viruses. Cabbages also support the processes of cleansing the body of toxins. Thanks to the content of phytocides, it acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent.

4. The debilitating properties of cabbage

A few years ago, the Capuchin diet, the so-called presidential diet, became very fashionable. This diet was based on the daily intake of all the essential nutrients, including the soup, which was supposed to consist mainly of cabbage. Other nutrients important for nutrition and health were significantly restricted in the diet. The diet, although it produced results, usually ended up with the yo-yo effect. It should be remembered that there is no product that contains all the necessary nutrients including the vitamins and minerals.

5. The processed cabbage is soaked and cooked

It contains a lot of antioxidants and prevents water retention in the body. Due to the many health benefits of eating cooked, raw and sour cabbage, this vegetable should be included in the diet. However, it is worth remembering that it is best to eat cabbage in as little processed form as possible, as it then preserves the most beneficial ingredients for health.
