Every day, the body needs energy to function properly, and too drastically limiting calorie intake not only fails to promote daily activity, but also does not seem to be an effective way to combat overweight.

Its value depends on gender, age, body weight, muscle mass. In women, PPM is on average a few percent lower than in men because of the lower muscle content. The basic change in matter (PPM) is the amount of energy required to maintain basic life functions such as breathing, body work, maintaining a constant body temperature, regeneration processes. The greater the body mass, the higher the PPM value. To estimate the value of PPM, several variables must be taken into account. PPM constitutes the largest part of a person's daily energy needs.

In the Miller S., Milliron B.J., Woolf K. study, PPM values were measured in 38 women using indirect calorimetry. The most accurate was the pattern proposed by Owen O.E. and others, which looks as follows.

6. Consequences of a calorie diet lower than PPM

For example, if we take 2000 calories with food, approximately 200 calories will be used for the same dietary thermogenesis. The study of M.J. Mueller I. and others, which showed a periodic increase in the metabolism of the dietary matter associated with digestion, absorption, and metabolism in 3 phases, should also be considered. However, if the study of participants allowed the body to show a reduction in the metabolic value of this dietary substance, for example, if we eat 2000 kcal with diet, about 200 kcal would be used to produce the same metabolic rate of the food. If the diet of the participants in the first group of the study were used for a period of less than three days, then the body's metabolic function would be reduced to less than the amount of metabolic weight of the body (which would be less than 400 kcal in the next group of dietary substances) and the body weight of those who participated in the second phase of the trial would not be able to be increased without the use of any metabolic tissue (e.e.g. in the following phases of study (i.g., the
