The acid-base balance of the organism

In the human body, and more specifically in its tissues and body fluids, processes known as material transformation are constantly taking place. One of the basic principles of proper life processes is to maintain an adequate concentration of hydrogen ions, i.e., to maintain acid-base balance.

Table of Contents

1. Acid-base balance acidic and basic constituents

A decrease below 7.25 and a rise above 7.55 are critical values for the body. A state in which an adequate ratio of cations and anions in the systemic fluids is maintained, resulting from the conversion of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in the body, is also acidified. The predominance of acidifying compounds over alkalizing compounds is most commonly observed. This maintains the acid-base balance in the organism. A condition in which the cation and anion ratios in systemic liquids are maintained in accordance with the normal life-cycle of blood processes, is called acidic-base equilibrium.

2. Too many acids or rules

We can distinguish between respiratory acid, which occurs when CO2 is released in the lungs, and metabolic acid, caused by excessive production or inadequate release of acidic conversion products. In turn, as a result of excessive intake and reduced elimination of the principles, or as a consequence of loss of acid, there may be a metabolic fatty acid deficiency. In contrast, breathing acid (alkaloid) is the result of hyperventilation, i.e. a substantial loss of fatty acids in the blood. This type of acid occurs most often due to the high content of the fat in the body and the fat content of its parent organisms and fruits.

3. Balanced products

On this basis, the potential load capacity of the kidney with acid was assessed. If our product has a negative indicator, then its character is basic, whereas the product with a positive indicator is acidic. If we are concerned that our diet is predominantly acidic, then we should reduce the source of protein, milk and milk products, meat and meat products, fish and seafood. Neutral products are mainly vegetable oils.

4. Too much acid

If the acid-base imbalance is sustained for a long time, it can lead to many conditions such as: hypertension, asthma, diabetes kidney disorders, cancers, osteoporosis. If you have severe symptoms such as diarrheal disease, you can observe symptoms of severe food poisoning in your eyes.

5. The essential vitamins

Many of us focus on providing adequate macronutrients in the form of protein, carbohydrates, and fats, so it's worth adding a solid portion of vegetables or fruits to every serving of rice, pasta, chicken, or any other type of meat. By looking at these aspects, we conclude that it is important to think twice about the meal. Dieters recommend that most of the ingredients in our diet be protein-based. So we forget about minerals and vitamins.
