Spring activities for seniors What to choose to take care of your health

Elderly people should take the example of children who, with the first rays of spring sunshine, leave their homes and actively spend the day. With the arrival of spring, the world wakes up to life after the winter break. What forms of activity are especially recommended for older adults in the spring? This is the perfect excuse to change their habits and take care of themselves, and the spring aura is certainly conducive to this.

1. I'm training in the outdoor gym

Gębczyńska-Janowicz, R. In the previously cited survey, 12% of respondents confirmed participation in gym exercises that are a form of elderly activation activities (A. The studies also show that equipment used in exercise packs can be successfully used to improve fitness. Regular training has led to a significant increase in muscle strength among participants and an improvement in balance, among others in the one-legged exercise test. Chow et al. 2021). Over the past few years, this type of exercise has become extremely popular, resulting in significant increases in the availability of non-exercise exercise (a.g. J. H. Senior).

2. Spring activities barriers for seniors

It should also be borne in mind that some of the factors that shape a senior's environment are architectural barriers, and most of the time we do not have any influence on them: adverse weather conditions, air pollution and excessive noise characteristic of urban areas; communication problems, e.g. too much distance from a park or an outdoor gym, ‡ architecture barriers such as not all fitness parks are adapted to the end of life, which limits the chance of full use of fitness equipment (A. J. 2024).
