Table of Contents

1. Running seven valleys, 501 great ones

A year ago, there were 761 participants at the start of the ultramarathon in Krakow. Of them, 501 people finished the race (including 44 women). The country champion was then Marcin Świerc from Lisowice, who fell on the goal with a time of 9 hours and 9 minutes. The second on the finish, Hungary (winner of the previous two editions), beat by 24 minutes.

2. Specifications of the run

We're going to get to the specifics of the run. To finish it, it's not enough to just want to. It's necessary to have proper preparation and tactics. At the start, athletes take sticks (like in Nordic walking), a belt with power jets and sticks, and.. the lantern (the run starts at 3 p.m. while Egypt is still dark). In addition, there are points on the route where you can both eat and drink water. But you can't rely solely on the organizers.

3. The fastest woman

Among the 761 participants of the previous edition, Magdalena Łączak from Mielc was the fastest woman. Interestingly, she finished in eighth place in the OPEN. Her time at the meet was really impressive and was 10:20:56. Her example shows that women do not run far from the top of the strongest men.

4. Ultramarathon for all

7 valleys is definitely not a race for everyone. year after year more and more women decide to try their hand at it. but if you're an amateur, don't try! 100 km of mountainous distance is sure to beat you. but there's a solution. in order to be classified, you just have to complete one of the seven time-control points on the route. the nearest one is located at 22 km.
