Olive oil is famous for itself

This is all because of the monounsaturated vegetable fats omega-9, which are predominant in olive oil. Despite the high fat intake by the inhabitants of the Mediterranean countries, the percentage of people with cardiovascular disease is low there. Thanks to the Mediterranean diet, which is considered the healthiest in the world, olive oil has become a permanent staple in Polish households.

Table of Contents

1. Olive oil is not just for the heart

Shaleen, on the other hand, has antibacterial properties, helps detoxify the liver and promotes pancreatic regeneration, thereby reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. The vitamin E and polyphenols (found only in extra virgin oil) contained in the oil as antioxidants inhibit the production of free radicals, which, by damaging the genetic material of the cells, can lead to the development of cancers. Shaleens also act by binding molecules of oxygen and delivering it to cells, improving cell-to-cell communication and improving skin elasticity.

2. The balance of omega acids

For the proper functioning of the body, polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 acids are also very important, which must be supplied with food. Given the low content of omega-3 acids in olive oil, it is important to include in your daily diet the products that contain them, such as fatty seafood, nuts or other oils (fats and flaxseed oil). This ensures the stability of fatty acids and their beneficial effect on health. It is permissible to soak them on a small flame and not the oil. Olive oil is a rich source of omega-9 fatty acid (oily acid).
