1. What is abdominal obesity?

This type of obesity is mainly found in developed countries, unfortunately increasingly in the Polish population. Additionally, a worrying trend of increasing overweight and obesity among Poles has been observed in long-term observations. Currently, imaging methods (e.g. computed tomography), bioelectric impedance analysis, X-ray absorption apples with two energies (DEXA) and anthropometric studies, based mainly on measurements of body thickness, e.g., tail, biomarker, and growth, have been found. In the case of men, the waist circumference is diagnosed with a waist mass of less than a third of the body weight, if the thicknesses of the waists are less than 94 cm.

2. What are the causes of abdominal obesity in the first place?

However, the main driver of obesity is, of course, the positive energy balance of our daily diet. To avoid obesity, it is important to note that most of the sugary drinks are also caused by environmental factors, including the consumption of high-calorie foods or snacks high in sugar and saturated fatty acids, while at the same time reducing physical activity. In order to avoid daily obesity in our stomach, we must avoid these two factors: Salt drinks also cause a significant decrease in the amount of salt in our body due to the increase in the intake of sugary foods or fat-rich snacks.

3. Obesity in the abdomen possible complications

Untreated abdominal obesity can lead to many conditions, including: hyperlipidemia, heart attack, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, stroke, diabetes, hypertension, and arthritis.

4. How to treat abdominal obesity?

Changes must be made gradually, you have to learn to live with them. You can take dance lessons, go to the gym, or just go for a walk a few times a week. You should also minimize stressors. The next step to feeling better and improving your health is to break bad habits, such as smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol or drinking too much coffee.

5. Diet and belly fat

However, if we want to make only a few modifications to our diet, we should follow a few basic guidelines: instead of soft drinks, it is better to drink mineral water with the addition of lemon juice, meat and fresh seasonal fruit. If we know that we are not going to be able to manage our diets, it's better to go to a diet that includes whole grains, macaroni, brown rice and rice.
