According to tradition in almost all homes there is a carp fish strongly associated with Christmas.

Previously, the fish was popular among Poles, but it was not associated with Christmas Eve, and some keep its shell in their wallet to ensure financial success. However, where did the custom of eating carpia on Christmas Eve come from? This tradition did not appear until the 1950s.

In addition to the carp, it is often prepared with spinach, squid, salmon, strawberries, turmeric, carrots, or flaxseed. Of course, nothing prevents us from breaking the tradition and also reaching for seafood, which is also more often prepared for Christmas.
