Non-sugar beverages with beverage type zero

Water is the main ingredient in these drinks, and their flavour is obtained by adding sweeteners and flavourings. They are usually also products described as low in calories or having zero calories. Zero drinks are products that do not contain sugar in the form of sucrose (so-called white sugar).

1. Characteristics of sugar substitutes

Three groups of substitutes for white sugar can be distinguished: natural, semi-synthetic and synthetic sweeteners. This is why they are used in the production of oral hygiene products (toothpaste, flossing fluids, etc.). These compounds have a very sweet taste (usually much sweeter than sucrose) and are therefore used in small quantities. Unlike sucrase, they do not contribute to the formation of pores, which is their great advantage.

2. It's natural sweets

It is a plant of the family Astroceae, commonly referred to as the sweet herb of Paraguay (due to the area from which it comes) or the sweet leaf, because it is in these parts of the plant that it contains compounds with a sweet taste. It is characterized by good solubility in water and stability even at high temperatures. In food and beverages, it is marked with the symbol E960. Glycine is a salt naturally occurring in the roots of sugar. However, in the table salt mix there are 50100 times the salt content. These symptoms should therefore be considered to be higher than those of a healthy group of people. Because of the high levels of salt content, it can increase the stiffness of muscle tissue, its fat content, and even the fat content of the heart. It should also be used in the production of soft drinks, since it is used in more than 300 different types of foods, and it is considered to have a beneficial effect.

3. Semi-synthetic sweets

They are used as sweeteners, but they also have a much lower glycemic index than sucrose, which is why they contain sugars. However, it is also important that they prevent the formation of polyols (a single dose of 2540 g). They are usually in the form of white powder or fine crystals. They are naturally obtained from the bark of birch, so they are also called birch sugar. They're also characterized by a significantly lower glycaemic index than safflower, so there are sugars in the sugar. It's also important to prevent the synthesis of salt in the blood.

4. Synthetic sweets

Among the most commonly used artificial sugar substitutes are aspartame, aesulfame K, neotame, saccharin, and sucralose. Aspartame is a popular sugar substitute widely used in beverages of type zero, labeled E951. Numerous studies have been conducted assessing the effects of this compound on the human body (N. Czarnecka et al. 2021). However, the metabolism of this amino acid is disrupted in such people. Acesulfate K, like aspartam, is a very popular substitute for sugar that is used widely in the production of drinks.

However, you can find drinks with the addition of stevia, xylitol or erythritol. The most popular sweeteners used in zero-type drinks include synthetic sweets most commonly aspartame and acesulfame K. They are a more expensive but at the same time healthier alternative. Due to the cost of production, semi-synthetic and natural sweets are rarely used.

However, it is worth looking at the latest reports that suggest that the consumption of artificial sugar substitutes can have a negative effect on health.
