Migraines and spinal headaches, how to deal with them

What are the differences? Headaches affect everyone, and the causes of their occurrence are diverse. How do you deal with them? While you can often find the terms migraine and neck pain used interchangeably, they're actually quite different problems.

1. What is... what is

According to current hypotheses, a migraine is caused by unexpected contraction of the extracranial blood vessels within the brain, resulting in more or less acute pain and many other symptoms that result in considerable discomfort. It is a neurovascular disease. A sudden and unjustified contraction in the vascular structures leads to impaired blood flow. First of all, migraines are not another term for headache, but a completely separate disorder from the group of so-called autoimmune pain disorders within the head.

2. Migraine - causes and symptoms

Migraines can therefore be the result of excessive stress, excessive blue light exposure, hormonal disorders, excess noise, sleep problems, high caffeine intake, dehydration and hunger, changes in blood pressure, high temperature, or the use of certain medicines. The main symptom of migraines is a headache, usually of high intensity. However, it should be noted that pain can occur in different parts of the head.

3. A migraine with aura is what it is

It is often said that the aura is a harbinger of an upcoming migraine. In addition, a migraine with aura can occur: lack of appetite, decreased concentration, deterioration of well-being, numbness or tingling of the face. It is also worth paying attention to the painful disorders that occur. A migraine attack is much shorter and usually lasts about 60 minutes.

4. What is a neck injury headache?

In other cases, neck pain is caused by an abnormal posture, including excessive protrusion of the head and shoulders (their forward pulling). In addition, chronic headache can be caused by damage to the C1-C2 spinal nerves, which form the spinal cord. It is usually located in the area of the spine, but also the frontal or rectal spine. Other common symptoms of chronic migraine, such as pain from the head to the back of the neck, can affect the brain, muscles, nerves and spinal muscles.

5. Tension headaches, what's that?

This is due to the fact that tension headaches are psychogenic and can be triggered by everyday lifestyle factors. Nerves of the head differ from migraines primarily in intensity. In addition, they are not accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or hypersensitivity to odor. It is also worth adding that people with headache often have increased sensitivities to light and visual stimuli. Noise or intense light can worsen the condition.

6. How to deal with a headache

Several different methods are commonly used a comprehensive treatment allows to address various factors that may contribute to the occurrence of pain disorders. In all cases the treatment is closely related to the root of the problem. There is really no one effective way to fight migraines and headaches.

7. Diet, hydration and lifestyle changes

Magnesium deficiency is also associated with impaired muscle function. Supplementation may also be helpful in the context of diet. Chamomile syrups are often recommended for sleeping and sleeping difficulties. Valuable effects on improving microcirculation, especially the vessels within the brain, are attributed to melanoma and glucose. Factors are also important in reducing migraine attacks. They are important in the framework of the normal functioning of the nervous system and maintaining optimal levels of energy metabolism.

8. It is not recommended to use this method for the treatment of acne

In some cases, it can also be done at home using appropriate equipment (called oxygen concentrators). Greater oxygen allows for, among other things, improved blood flow to the vessels of brain tissue, stimulation of repair processes and cell regeneration. In addition, an optimal amount of oxygen can improve the quality of sleep. Normobaric and hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions are non-invasive ways to fight migraines that can be used at any age.
