Metabolic syndrome what it is, diagnosis, diet therapy

The risk of metabolic syndrome increases with age and is most commonly diagnosed in people over the age of 60. It is not a disease unit but a set of related factors that promote the development of, among others, type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis.

Table of Contents

1. Metabolic syndrome what it is

Hanefeld, W. A metabolic syndrome is not a disease, but a set of factors that significantly increase the risk of developing other diseases and cardiovascular complications. The development of metabolic syndromes was found to be promoted by low movement activity, predisposition and excessive calorie intake.

2. Metabolic syndrome recognition

Drab-Rybczyńska, J. Metabolic syndrome can be identified on the basis of criteria developed by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).The precautions required are abdominal obesity defined as waist circumference in the European population: in women ≥ 80 cm and in men ≥ 94 cm and a minimum of 2 risk factors such as: arterial pressure: ≥ 130 / ≥ 85 mm Hg, fasting glucose: ≥ 100 mg/dl (≥ 5.6 mmol/l), triglyceride levels: ≥ 150 mg /dl (1.7 mmol) in women and HDL cholesterol: < 50 mg (dl) (1.3 kg/l) in men and < 40 mg/l (1.0 mml) for men.

3. Metabolism Consequences

In one study, the occurrence of metabolic syndrome was found to increase the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease by up to three times (B.O. Diseases whose risk is particularly high for metabolic syndromes are: type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, renal failure, ?? atherosclerosis, hypertension). Deaths from cardiovascular disease occur 3.5 to 5.5 times more frequently in patients with metabolic disease than in the general population.

4. Metabolic syndrome Treatment

Proper nutrition, increased mobility, and discontinuation of exercise can have a significant impact on the treatment process. Regular physician control and appropriate treatment can improve health. The whole process should be multi-stage, with lifestyle changes playing a major role. The second component is pharmacotherapy, which is necessary in some patients.

5. Metabolic group diet and physical activity

A healthy and healthy weight loss for patients should be a maximum of 1 kg per week. Individuals with a high metabolic rate should exclude from the diet foods rich in insulin which should be consumed regularly. Reducing the amount of fat in their diet into a few smaller portions will significantly reduce their hunger and thus make it easier to satisfy them. Healthy and healthy for the patient's diet should be at least 1 kg/ week. People with a good metabolism should eliminate from their diet foods that are high in insulin, which can significantly contribute to a significant decrease in their body's blood sugar levels and thus increase their metabolic energy.
