Which of these are the most abundant? The concepts of "diet" and "calorie" are primarily associated with meals, and the energy from them is often carefully controlled. What is it worth drinking to maintain optimal energy balance? Many people forget, however, that calories can also come from daily drinks.

1. Hot drinks

This makes their energy value quite high (a portion of about 300 ml provides up to 250300 kcal). This is why these drinks should be treated as a standalone meal rather than a dessert addition. A particular category of products are coffee drinks and teacups available in coffee shops, which have been gaining great popularity in recent years.

They also provide vitamins and minerals from the fruit from which they are produced, but it is worth noting that the beneficial ingredients can also be found in fresh fruit, which is also a source of fiber. Their nutritional value varies depending on the ingredient used. However, fruit juices are popular drinks, but drinking them less often can significantly increase the energy balance.

A glass of orange juice or carbonated beverage is associated with an increase in the daily energy balance by about 100150 kcal. Essentially have a low energy value (< 5 kcal in a glass), but are primarily made up of sweeteners, flavourings and dyes.

Other additives used for their preparation may be nuts, seeds, cereal flakes or protein nutrients. These are beverages that usually have a high content of excess ingredients (juice) but also a high energy content, which depends on the type of smoothie and fruit juice and/or juice.

5. What drinks to choose

On the other hand, if the goal of the diet is to gain weight, it is advisable to include in the diet cocktails or smoothies with the addition of high-energy products such as nuts, seeds, coconut milk or cereal flakes. The drinks are also important in the athlete's diet depending on their needs, they may include juices or specialty drinks which are a quick source of energy and are easily accessible drinks, or high-protein cocktail which support recovery after exercise. It is therefore advisabile to eliminate them consciously it depends primarily on their low energy value.
