Is organic food better?

Unfortunately, organic food is more expensive than conventional food, and the consumer often makes mistakes. We live in a time when high-selling manufacturers serve us all kinds of food products, while bombarding us with advertisements from all sides. How can we consciously choose healthy products and not overpay for a product that isn't healthy at all? They know that everyone wants to take care of their health and will definitely choose a product where they see the words bio, fit and eko.

Table of Contents

1. Organic food, what do you mean?

Eco-food processing companies are not allowed to use preservatives, colours, flavourings and flavour enhancers. Unfortunately, some producers issue their own packaging certificates and find that their food, although more expensive, is no different from ordinary food. Commitments include: not using artificial fertilisers and plant protection products, not producing genetically modified food, not using sprays and artificial fertilizers, free-roaming animals and organic feed. These certificates, regulated by EU law, give consumers the assurance that the food for which it is actually being produced is organic.

2. Is it organic food at all or is quality the price?

In the case of animal husbandry, this is the cost of providing them with adequate conditions, more expensive fodder and certificates themselves, although farmers receive Union subsidies. Organic vegetables and fruits usually have more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than food available in the markets. This is their definite plus but it is worth considering whether it is better to buy more vegetables or fruit at a lower price. As long as vegetables can be washed and eaten more, we will not change the composition of meat as well. Such meat may have a higher cholesterol content than organic food. Why is organic food a better ingredient? All this has to ensure the quality of feed products.

3. Is it even a choice to be healthy?

When it comes to meat, organic food is definitely winning, and there's no need to use antibiotics for prevention, because non-caged animals don't get sick that often, and only the most important vaccinations are enough, so we get meat with a better composition without the extra substances in it. For vegetables and fruits, the answer is hard, the likelihood of contamination of conventional food with pesticides is negligible. Not only for humanitarian reasons, because animals raised in such a way live in better conditions and natural food for them, but because of the benefits to our health.
