Fruit is a traditional spice of ancient Polish cuisine, an addition to wild food and marinade for meat. What is this evergreen plant and why is it worth using in the kitchen?

1. What's a calf?

Despite the great diversity of species (it is assumed that there are from 50 to over 70 species) in Poland there are only two of them naturally. This plant is grown mainly for ornamental purposes. It is very often described as an evergreen shrub. This name is due to its longevity, as some species can grow for over 100 years.

2. Fruit of the Properties

Strawberries have a very beneficial effect on health. Strawberry fruits, called sushkojagodes, contain fruit oil and contain terpenes, among which compounds such as camphor, limonene, pine and terpineol are to be distinguished. These compounds exhibit strong warming effects, improve microcirculation, which significantly affects metabolism and facilitates the removal of unnecessary metabolites from cells. Terpenes also have disinfectant and bactericidal properties.

3. Applications

The use of berry oil in the vicinity of the respiratory tract helps with respiratory problems and colds. The berry can also be used in anti-inflammatory treatments as well as in case of constipation. Berry oil can be used internally in the form of ointments or oils used to alleviate visceral pain, nerve pain and rheumatic diseases. It prevents the effects of digestive problems such as swelling or fever.
