How obesity affects one's health

Not everyone is aware that obesity carries many negative health consequences. Today, the percentage of people who are obese is increasing steadily. How does it affect human health? The main causes of obesity include a sedentary lifestyle, insufficient movement during the day, and a lack of nutritional awareness coupled with very easy access to a variety of products, including processed ones.

1. What is obesity?

However, it should be noted that the BMI is not always a reliable way to assess whether a person is obese or not. BMI does not take into account the very important question of lean body mass and fat tissue. However, this applies mainly to people who are aiming to build muscle mass (e.g. weight trainers or bodybuilders). It has been observed that the higher the weight of this indicator, the greater the fat content of the body mass component (there are also other methods currently available, such as analysis of whether or not the body weight of a person exceeds 30 kg).

However, there are also exceptions such as osteoporosis or stroke, Kroll et al. 2016).Excess body weight can contribute to the development of numerous cancers, including breast, ovarian, kidney, or pancreas.This disease is also associated with joint degeneration, depression, urethral thrombosis, renal failure, and type 2 diabetes.

3. Stress and obesity

Appetite is the desire to eat a particular product/product, which is strongly linked to the human psyche. Why is this happening? Food also meets the inner psychological needs of every human being such as: the need to express feelings by giving e.g. sweets; a need for self-fulfillment, which manifests itself in the desire for cooking, for example, for the whole family or friends; a desire for security, which expresses itself in eating at the same time each day; eating a meal or eating food from the so-called upper half of the family can cause stressful or stressful situations; the consumption of nutrients in the family and friends can also lead to the need for an extended form of communication.
