How many calories does the whiskey have?

In 2013, alcohol has enjoyed great popularity for centuries. Among Poles, there is increasing interest in high-percent alcohol, to which whiskey belongs. Poland was ranked 11th among the countries belonging to its largest importers. Why?

1. The nutritional value

The number of kilocalories supplied with whiskey depends largely on its type. 100 ml of whiskey provides about 149 kcal, 13 g of carbohydrates and trace amounts of other nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. The answer is simple mainly because of the narrowness of ethanol. But remember that ethanol is not only a substance that is associated with good fun, but also a toxic substance that impairs body function and can cause symptoms of poisoning.

2. Alcohol consumption is permitted

Clinical guidance on cardiovascular disease prevention has found that drinking three or more servings of alcoholic beverages is associated with an increased risk of heart disease, but drinking them in a moderate amount one to two servings is linked to a lower risk of these diseases. If we compared a drinker with an abstinent person, the risk of cardiovasculare disease is lower for a person who does not drink alcohol. For moderate intake of alcohol is 10 g/day for women and 20 g/g for men. It is important to realize that there is no such a safe dose of alcohol as 10 ml per year for people who consume more than 330 g of alcohol per year (25 g/c) in Europe.

3. The effects of excessive alcohol consumption

Considering that alcoholic beverages are never recommended, they can only be consumed in moderate quantities. Alcohol consumption is associated with the risk of: liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis, alcoholic fatty liver disease, cancers, cardiovascular problems, including hypertension.
