How many calories does pear have? What is its nutritional value?

Pears are one of the most popular fruits in Poland. They are available almost all year round. The most popular varieties include Conferenza, Klapsa,Lukasówka or General Leclerc. These fruits are valued because of their high content of fiber and mineral components such as potassium or calcium.

Table of Contents

1. The nutritional value

100 g of peas contains 58 kcal. It can therefore be considered a low-calorie fruit and is therefore recommended for people on a reduced diet. An additional advantage is the high content of B vitamins (B1, B2, B3 and B6), A and E. Peas are a source of potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron.

2. Peas are good for drinking and jogging

Peaches because of their pectin content (a water-soluble fiber) are recommended for people with constipation and emptying problems. In this case, it is recommended to eat mature peaches with a higher content of simple sugars. Pectins combine with water, relax the stool and facilitate emptiness. Interestingly, these fruits are also recommended for diarrhea.

3. Peas are good for your health

A study published in the journal Nutrition Today in 2015 suggests that eating peas may protect against ulcers, may affect alcohol metabolism and lower plasma lipid levels. Their glycemic index is 38, so they can be consumed by people with diabetes. It is recommended that patients reach for hard and less ripe fruits to minimize sugar content.

4. It's for allergy sufferers

People who are allergic to pears should avoid these fruits in their diet. Sometimes even a small amount can contribute to anaphylactic shock, which can lead to a loss of health and even life. Not everyone knows that people with allergies to the pollen of certain trees, such as pears, grasses, bushes, should not eat pears during the flowering period of the above-mentioned plants because of the so-called cross-reaction.

5. Applications

Peas can be used in the kitchen in many ways. They are suitable for desserts cakes, puddings, jellies, fruit salads, ice creams and sorbetes. Peas combine well with cheese and wine, so these combinations are often used in exclusive restaurants.
