Fermented dairy products are among the healthiest foods in the world. They are prized for their richness in beneficial bacteria and high calcium content. Yogurt comes in a variety of flavors, but keep in mind that natural yogurt is healthier.

1. The nutritional value

Natural yogurt is a source of protein (4, 3 g/100 g of product), potassium, phosphorus and magnesium. It should be consumed by children and people who are more at risk of osteoporosis, as it contains a high amount of calcium (170 mg/100 g product). It is also an important source of zinc and iron. It also provides small amounts of vitamins A, D, C and group B. The nutritional value per 100 g of the product: calories: 60 kcal, protein: 4, 3 g fat: 2, 0 g, ?? carbohydrate: 56, 2 g, 0. fiber: 0.

2. It's the source of calcium

Calcium is a very important element, it affects the proper functioning of the body. It is responsible for the building of teeth and bones and regulates the conduction of nerve stimuli. It participates in muscle contraction and blood clotting processes.

3. Unhealthy bacteria

Yogurt is a source of probiotics that have an immunomodulating effect and help maintain proper physiological flora. The bacteria that have beneficial effects on the human body are Streptococcus thermophilus, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Lactosbacillus acidophilis, Lactocccus lactis 11/19-B1 or Bifidobacterium lactis. They have been shown to reduce blood glucose and LDL cholesterol levels.

4. Natural yogurt and sugar

Several studies have attempted to demonstrate that eating yogurt reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes. A 2017 review by Salasa-Salvado J. et al. showed a link between the frequency of yogurt intake and the occurrence of the disease. It is believed that a serving of 80125 g yogurt per day is enough to reduce the risk by up to 14%. In conclusion, fermented milk increases insulin sensitivity, thus acting as a prophylactic agent in elderly people who are at high risk of cardiovascular disease.

5. Applications

Natural yogurts can be used primarily for sweet dishes. They combine perfectly with homemade granules, oatmeal or fruit. They form the basis of cocktails or ice creams. Yogurt can be a healthy substitute for cream, e.g. in misery.
