How Many Calories Does Milk Have?

Milk has been present in the human diet for centuries, but opinions about it are divided, so it's time to learn about the nutritional value of milk.

1. The nutritional value of milk

Depending on the fat content, milk delivers 3961 kcal per 100 g. It is primarily a source of protein of high biological value. The composition of milk is closely correlated with the way the cow fed it.

2. Milk content of vitamins

Milk contains certain amounts of B vitamins and fat soluble vitamins A, E and K. The table below shows the content of the above vitamins in a glass of milk of 1.5%.

4. Milk content of mineral ingredients

Milk is known for its high calcium content, a glass of milk provides 276 mg of calcium, which covers 30% of the daily requirement. In addition, milk is a very good source of potassium or magnesium.

6. Fat derived from milk has health benefits

Fat is an important component of milk. Firstly, it is essential for the absorption of vitamins such as A, D, E and K. Secondly it is one of the most easily digestible fats. All because of its high content of short- and medium-chain fatty acids.

7. Milk for healthy bones

Due to its high calcium content, milk has a beneficial effect on bone health. Calcium is a building block of bone health, and its proper intake with diet eliminates the phenomenon of bone loss and the risk of osteoporosis in old age. However, the positive effect on the bone health depends not only on the amount of calcium, but also on its absorption.

8. Milk has allergenic properties

Cow's milk causes the greatest number of food allergies in children and adults. The main allergen of cow'smilk is beta-lactoglobulin. Many people also suffer from intolerance to milk sugar lactose, which is manifested by disorders of the digestive system (diarrhea, constipation).
